Though measuring less than five inches in length, this Calabash from Ser Jacopo boasts a tall, heavy-set bowl with a healthy chamber capacity. This piece offers hearty proportions and a muscular disposition, along with the form's characteristic domed, overhanging rim. The tight-knit transition bridges the robust bowl to an upturned shank and an arcing saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. The mouthpiece's color harmonizes with the shadowy complexion of the stummel's sandblast, which draws out growth rings across the flanks of the bowl. A trim sterling silver band adorns the shank end and lends a dose of flash to the composition.
