Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Cherrywood (S1) (D) (Maxima, Maxima, Maxima, Maxima) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3473

Stamped with a staggering four "Maxima" designations, this Cherrywood from Ser Jacopo is striking in its neoclassical proportions. Beyond palm-filling, the bowl boasts well over two inches of tobacco chamber, guaranteeing long smoking sessions, and a subtle forward cant that lends a bit of dynamism to the profile. While the bowl dominates most of the visual weight of the piece, the shank-and-stem combination remain quite robust, with the thick, abbreviated shank giving way to a saddle stem with a trim base and a fairly svelte bit, making a gentle downturn for comfortable smoking. The arc of the stem terminates at around the same height as the bowl, creating an elegant balance between both ends of the pipe, important given the heft and substance present here. The stummel here is dressed in a shallow sandblast and an inky, nearly black stain, unveiling an impressive growth ring structure which wraps around the bowl, undulating up its surface from the flattened, stably sitting heel. The rim is finished smooth and is covered with a smoky stain that showcases some handsome swirling birdseye, matching with the smooth nomenclature panel and trim band of briar around the shank end.
