Ser Jacopo: Smooth Paneled Bent Dublin (L1) (B) (Maxima, Maxima) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3486
A sizeable rendition of the bent Dublin shape, this piece from Ser Jacopo bears two "Maxima" stamps, which denote pipes of exceptional size. This piece features a tall, structural bowl, with a broad, flared rim and a subtle taper to the firm, flattened heel. The four facets that encompass the bowl provide a sense of muscularity to the design and a square appearance when viewed from above. The angularity of the bowl continues along the boxy shank that tapers gradually along with the acrylic mouthpiece. The diminishing lines of the shank-and-stem arrangement keep the visual weight of the composition firmly at the bowl in typical Italian neoclassical fashion. The stummel wears a dark, smoky smooth finish that showcases some handsome birdseye across the rim and sweeping flame grain across the flanks of the bowl.
