Ser Jacopo: Picta Magritte Sandblasted Bent Billiard with Silver (S1) (D) (20) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3534

Ser Jacopo's Picta line of pipes sprang forth from founder Giancarlo Guidi's intense love of the arts, something which he celebrated through this series, showcasing pipes inspired by famous works of art that feature a beloved smoking instrument. In this iteration, we see a bent Billiard that takes its shaping style from a painting by René Magritte entitled Musical Moments, in which the Surrealist artist has depicted the silhouette of a pipe adorned with sheet music floating in front of a mountain and below a similarly stylized bird. The bowl here has a Stack-like height and depth, offering plenty of chamber that's been insulated by thick walls, as well as a lifted heel to further thrust the bowl into prominence. A wide transition leads us to a trim, gently tapering stretch of shank, paired to a similarly tapered stem that makes a demure downturn at the bit for a comfortable smoking posture. A pair of silver bands really drive home exactly which painting this pipe was inspired by, as both the one wrapping around the rim and the one at the shank end feature embossed sheet music motifs around their entirety, adding further visual appeal and contrast to the stummel's inky sandblast.
