Ser Jacopo: Leonardo Delecta Spongia Rusticated Bent Billiard with Silver (R2) (D) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3564

There's an interesting feature hidden within the bowl of this Ser Jacopo Billiard, though it's anything but new. Indeed, this twin-walled pipe design was based on one from Leonardo da Vinci himself, as he was commissioned by King Louis XII of France to fashion a smoker that didn't get hot to the touch. Though the original design was likely intended to be made from terracotta, this rendition was made from briar, finished in a warm Spongia rustication, a fitting complement to the intricate silverwork at the shank end. The jet-black saddle stem balances the physical and visual weight of the piece, and boasts its own silver fitment as well.
