Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Paneled Bent Dublin (S2) (C) (Maxima, Maxima) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3580
Tall and hearty, this bent Dublin from Ser Jacopo bears two "Maxima" stamps, denoting a pipe of bold, dramatic proportions. In typical Italian neoclassical style, the flaring, plateau-crowned bowl here towers over the comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement that trails out back. Four panels frame said bowl and lend it a geometric sensibility that continues through the boxy shank and stem for a sharp, angular appearance. The stummel wears a rugged, earth-toned sandblast that draws out waves of growth rings across the sides of the bowl, while the nomenclature panel and a trim band around the shank end are left smooth and stained a lighter color for contrast. Boasting a capacious chamber over two inches in depth as well as a flat, sure-sitting heel, this piece has plenty of admirable qualities, and it should make for an eye-catching desk pipe.
