With a broad, ridgeline-wrapped base that tapers gradually to the rim, this Volcano offers an eye-catching, bowl-centric profile in typical Italian neoclassical style. The tall bowl takes on a very gradual taper from the base to the rim, rising to over two inches in height and leaning forward a bit for some added visual dynamism. Out back, the shank and stem strike a fluid S-curve that promotes a comfortable smoking posture and provides a touch of sinuosity to the overall composition. The handsome Maior finish that dresses the stummel resembles cooling magma, with vibrant red striations of briar peeking out intermittently underneath the darker sandblast. A unique design, this piece should make for a welcome addition to any collector's rotation.
