A forward-canting Calabash with all the sinuosity of the form with a bit of added whimsicality, this Ser Jacopo piece presents a paneled shank and saddle stem trailing behind for a pleasing balance. It's wearing the Italian workshop's striking Maior sandblast, its lightly stained background offset by dark, geometric patterns that bring to mind a molten, cracked lava motif. The gently domed rim and slender band at the shank end are left smoothly stained for textural contrast in this deep-chambered, handy piece.
