A domed rim that hangs over the subtly tapering and stocky bowl marks this Calabash from Ser Jacopo, with the pipe's flattened heel and Prince-like stretch of shank and downturned stem allowing it to sit sturdily upright. Neoclassic in the proportions between bowl and shank, this deep-chambered piece is dressed in one of the Italian workshop's extra-dark sandblasts, save for smoothly finished briar at the shank end and underside. The bowl displays some handsome rippling growth rings across the bowl, contributing to its textural allure.
