Ser Jacopo: Jucunda Sandblasted Bent Billiard (S2) (A) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-3625

This Jucunda pipe from Ser Jacopo has been given the old oil-curing process in which the stummel soaks in special oils, then propped on a heated peg to allow those to penetrate the briar and further air-cured. The time-consuming technique was popular decades ago but mostly fell out of favor except for a few pipe makers who continue to honor the old ways. Shape-wise, this bent Billiard displays the whimsicality for which the Italian workshop is known, the broad, distinctively protruding base tapering to the rim and leaning back toward the stem, which offers extended length in demi-Churchwarden fashion. It's dressed in an earthy, grain-defining sandblast that's both visually and texturally appealing, with the chamfered rim and trim band of briar smoothly stained for contrast.
