Ser Jacopo: "La Pipaccia" Rowlette Rusticated Volcano (4) (C) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3657
The pipes of the "La Pipaccia" series were inspired by the pipes Giancarlo Guidi, the late founder of Ser Jacopo, saw sailors smoking at the Adriatic Port in Pesaro, Italy. This Volcano from Ser Jacopo boasts a stern taper across the sides of the bowl that results in the broad base that defines the shape. Partially rusticated, this piece wears the carved Rowlette finish that gives the piece its melted-wax aesthetic, hearkening back to the dress of vintage Italian pipes. The high-kicking shank features a thick, pronounced face that adds a bold accent in profile and offsets the robust finish of the bowl with a smooth note that's matched by the stem base. Full and firm in hand, this piece will make a handsome addition to any collector's rotation, especially for those with an eye intrigued by the richly textured finish of novel Italian pipes.
