Italian workshop Ser Jacopo has been producing pipes for about four decades now, enjoying a reputation for being on the cutting edge of the Pesaro school of pipe making, often crafting colossal pieces that embody a playful aesthetic. This Billiard features classic shaping writ large, the tall bowl housing plenty of chamber depth and boasting a flattened panel beneath the heel, allowing it to sit sturdily upright. It's poised at the end of a lengthy, far more slender, sleek shank-and-stem arrangement that extends from a low-set transition, all of which accentuates the bowl's height. Proportionally dramatic in Italian neoclassical style, this piece is wearing a dark sandblast, showing off lovely growth rings beneath, and is further commended by a gleaming silver band at the shank end for a dapper, dress pipe aesthetic.
