Ser Jacopo: Unigena Rusticated Paneled Bent Dublin (R1) (E) (Maxima, Maxima, Maxima, Maxima, Maxima, Maxima, Maxima) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3769
Defined by a vast, inflated rim and crisply paneled bowl, this bent Dublin from Ser Jacopo offers no shortage of palm-filling substance and texture with its seven "Maxima" stamps. Taking Italian neoclassic proportions to the extreme, the shank is comparatively trim, comprising a consistent taper from the wide transition to the stem's button, serving to keep the visual weight firmly planted at the robust bowl. As a whole, this pipe's bowl is nearly as tall as it is broad, with an overall length that stretches out to nearly 10 inches, it's weight nearing a full pound. The walls of the bowl aren't just paneled, but compressed at the flanks to allow for easier holding, creating a rim outline that's essentially an ovoid octagon. A craggy, chestnut-hued rustication dresses the majority of the stummel here, creating ample texture for the hands to explore while this is smoked. As a part of the Unigea series, this pipe not only features high quality shaping, but handsome grain as well, here revealed across the expansive rim beneath its smooth stain.-Truett Smith
