Ser Jacopo's Picta line offers unique shapes that resemble those seen in famous paintings, with this particular Hawkbill having been inspired by Vincent van Gogh's Self Portrait with Pipe. Dramatically bent through the shank-and-stem arrangement, this piece features a tall bowl that flares from its heel to its rim and cants steeply at the fore of the composition. The bowl's forward drive the shank-and-stem arrangment's aquiline curve lends the overall composition a dynamic appearance in profile, one that immediately arrests the eye. A smoky smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights sweeping strands of flame grain across the flanks of the bowl, while a sterling silver accent adorns the shank end and provides a pop of flash to totality of the form.
