The shank and stem here comprise a svelte taper throughout their demure arc to the button, diminishing from the wide transition onward and slenderizing the aft section of the composition quite nicely. Additionally, this pairing serves to draw attention to the bowl, placing its robust build and supple rounded sides into full prominence.
