Ser Jacopo: Delecta Smooth Calabash with Silver (L1) (D) Tobacco Pipe

This robust piece from Ser Jacopo is an excellent example of the Italian marque's skilled silver work. A chubby Calabash, the bowl features a domed rim with an overhang that mimics the caps of earlier Calabashes made from gourd and meerschaum. The walls of the bowl are decorated with twin beadlines that encircle the pipe's midriff. A soft heel curves sinuously into the round shank, elevated by an intricately carved silver band and Delecta mount that adds a second accent to the comfortably bent acrylic stem. Dressed in a rich brown stain, the stummel boasts excellent flame grain around the bowl, with swirling birdseye at the rim and heel.
