Ser Jacopo: Spongia Rusticated Paneled Acorn with Silver (R2) (A) Tobacco Pipe

This is a shape we've seen before from Ser Jacopo, though not very often, and as a whole it is something of a rarity in the pipe world. The paneled Acorn, as seen here, trades the fully curvaceous, supple contours of the classic Danish shape for an octet of firm panels and crisp ridgelines. The outline is still nicely rounded, however, creating a lovely confluence of textures that are a treat in the hand, especially as this stummel is dressed in the craggy rustication and tan stain of the Spongia series. The shank and stem are quite sleek and streamlined, consistently tapering out of the wide transition and placing more emphasis on the presence of the bowl, its trim silver band at the junction adding a tasteful bit of flair to the palette.
