Ser Jacopo: Spongia Rusticated Oom Paul (R2) (A) Tobacco Pipe

A towering, hearty take on the Oom Paul from Ser Jacopo, this piece features a stout, slightly forward-canting bowl that houses quite the impressive chamber depth within thick, insulating walls. Rather classically inclined but displaying the bold, large proportions of Italian shaping, it presents the extended heel, deep bend and high-reaching, nearly vertical combination of shank and stem. A fine Sitter, this piece is wearing the workshop's Spongia rustication and should darken with the warm tones of patina as it's enjoyed over time. The rim has been left smooth, as has a trim band of briar by the shank end.
