Ser Jacopo: Rusticated Paneled Bent Dublin (R1) (B) (Maxima) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3838
Within Ser Jacopo's portfolio, pipes that bear a "Maxima" stamp are particularly robust, as evidenced by this striking bent Dublin. Framed by eight crisp facets, the bowl here flares from its firm, muscular heel to its broad, curved rim. The boxy shank glides from the low-set transition and curls upward into a demurely curved stem of jet-black acrylic. Though the paneled shank mirrors the geometric bowl, the latter takes visual prominence within the composition, its colossal build and palm-filling girth overshadowing the comparatively slender shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. A striking rustication dresses most of the stummel and provides an enticing texture for the fingers to explore, save for the rim, a trim band around the shank end, and an accent along the stem base, which are smoothly polished for a bit of tactile contrast. --Davin Hylton
