Boasting seven "Maxima" stamps, this Liverpool from Ser Jacopo is a massive bit of Italian craftsmanship, measuring nearly 12 inches in total length. As one might expect from the famed workshop, this piece boasts a distinctly neoclassical silhouette, with the tall, muscular bowl overshadowing the comparatively lean shank-and-stem arrangement. The hearty bowl fills the palm with substance and houses a capacious tobacco chamber, one whose dimensions ensure plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions. A striking rustication dresses the stummel and provides a wealth of tactile detail for the fingers to admire, save for the rim and nomenclature panel, which are smoothly polished and stained a honey hue for contrast. A trim band of sterling silver adorns the junction and ties the entire composition together with a touch of flash.
