Ser Jacopo: Calumet Spongia Rusticated Bent Dublin with Silver (R2) (D) (1) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-3956
Ser Jacopo was founded in the 1980s by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Unfortunately, Guidi passed away in 2012, but his workshop carries on his legacy. This bent Dublin by Ser Jacopo is a member of their Calumet series, which incorporates stylistic elements of indigenous American pipes. This pipe features some stunning silverwork, as the silver expansion ring closest to the bowl houses the tenon-mortise arrangement, and the acrylic stem is accented by a long, curved piece of briar that terminates at an engraved piece of silver, which finally relents to an abbreviated saddle stem. Additionally, the bowl is dressed in Ser Jacopo's signature Spongia rustication, which provides a pockmarked texture.
