Though fairly compact in its length, this bent Billiard from Ser Jacopo is quite stout, its bowl tall, proud, and possessed of a capacious chamber that is sure to offer some lengthy smoking sessions. Not only that, but the thick walls on offer here will make those sessions more comfortable in the hand, and the deep arc of stem and sharply upturned shank make this a sure jaw hanger. There's a very slight taper to the rim from the bowl's low-set waistline, and the curvature of this piece works in concert with that to create a truly handsome posture. As part of the Albus et Niger series, this substantial briar comes dressed in a deep, nearly black sandblast which unveils some handsome growth rings on the bowl. This finish benefits from silver at the shank end and stem base, an addition that imparts the composition with a lovely contrast to the dark hues of the briar, something furthered by its pale stem.
