Ser Jacopo: Picta Picasso Smooth Hawkbill with Silver (L1) (C) (06) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4113
Ser Jacopo was founded in the 1980s by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. One of Guidi's greatest passions, other than pipe making, was procuring fine art. Ser Jacopo's Picta series pays homage to iconic art pieces, and this particular pipe was inspired by Pablo Picasso's 1902 artwork Self-portrait.
This Hawkbill by Ser Jacopo possesses the shape's namesake arcing shank-and-stem arrangement, giving this pipe an instantly-recognizable profile. Perched at the fore, a plump Billiard bowl offers a robust in-hand feel and showcases wiry tendrils of flame grain on the walls. Furthermore, the stummel is dressed in a dark mahogany stain, which offers a cool contrast to the glimmering silver band on the shank end.
