Ser Jacopo: Smooth Bulldog (L1) (C) (Maxima Maxima Maxima) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4135
Ser Jacopo was founded in the 1980s by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. This triple "Maxima" Bulldog by Ser Jacopo forgoes the traditional, bowl-centric aesthetic famous to Italian neoclassical pipe making, and presents a shank of enormous proportions. The diamond shank joins to the bowl at a transition that stretches from the flat underside to barely below the singular beadline, offering an eye-catching muscularity. However, the bowl is still rather robust here, and it is dressed in a walnut smooth finish that highlights wisps of flame grain on the lower bowl and swirls of birdseye at the rim.
