Ser Jacopo: Picta Picasso Sandblasted Acorn with Ivorite (S2) (C) (28) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4142
The late Giancarlo Guidi, founder of Ser Jacopo, was an avid art collector and enthusiast. So much of an enthusiast, in fact, that he created the Picta line — a series inspired by pipes featured in the works of major artists like van Gogh, Miro, and Magritte. Taking inspiration from Picasso's work, this Acorn features a tall bowl that tapers from its pronounced, pointed heel to its bulbous waistline, before tapering again to the rim. Gently canted, the bowl pairs naturally to a lean shank-and-stem arrangement, one that keeps the aft side of the composition rather sleek in profile. A crisp sandblast dresses the stummel and highlights a wealth of engaging grain across the briar's surface, while a band of Ivorite adorns the junction and ties the composition together with a touch of vibrant color.
