Ser Jacopo: 'La Pipaccia' Rusticated Calabash (D) (1) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4190
Ser Jacopo's founder, the late Giancarlo Guido, lived by the Adriatic Sea in Pesaro, Italy and was impressed by pipes smoked by various mariners as they made a port of call there. He conceptualized in 1996 the La Pipaccia line, honoring those novel pipes, with this Calabash being a fine representation of the series. A hearty, towering piece, it features the form's overhanging, domed rim with several ridgelines and turned features decorating the bowl for a woody, nautical aesthetic. It's paired to a high-kicking shank with an elongated, smooth briar extension integrated into the stem, which is then gently downturned. The stummel is wearing the a rugged partial rustication, offering a wealth of tactile and visual intrigue.
