Ser Jacopo: Mangia Fuoco Rusticated Poker with Silver (R1) (D) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4214
Ser Jacopo was founded in the 1980s by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. Ser Jacopo's Mangia Fuoco series presents Poker and Cherrywood shapes that feature a perforated briar cap for the bowl to protect the contents of the chamber from the elements, with this pipe being an example of the Poker shape. The bowl presents a Volcano-esque design, tapering from a circular ridgeline at its base to the rim, which joins to the briar cap at a shining silver band. Out back, the arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement adds a structural flourish to the profile and facilitates a comfortable smoking posture. Additionally, the stummel and chamber cap are dressed in a craggy chestnut rustication, save for a sections of smooth finish just above the silver band on the bowl and the nomenclature panel, offering a palpable contrast.
