Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Bent Apple Churchwarden (S2) (A) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-4250

Founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo has built a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Though Guidi passed away in 2012, his legacy lives on not only in the pipes he crafted, or the company he founded, but in the language of design that he helped to pioneer. Ser Jacopo isn't necessarily known for their Churchwardens, though they make handsome renditions of them, as in this bent Apple. The plump bowl perches neatly at the end of a willowy stem, its contours offering a comfortable feel in hand that takes full advantage of the profile's wealth of supple curves. The elongated stem of tapering pale-white acrylic takes over with sinuous grace, bending for a comfortable smoking posture and extending the reach of this piece in an extremely vertical orientation. A striking example of what the Italian workshop is capable of, the stummel here has been dressed in a crisp sandblast and warm, earthy stain that showcases some lovely grain throughout.
