Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Bent Dublin (S2) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4385
Founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo has built a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Though Guidi passed away in 2012, his legacy lives on not only in the pipes he crafted, or the company he founded, but in the language of design that he helped to pioneer. This bent Dublin is a novel reinterpretation of the classic profile, boasting a unique stretch of shank and stem that draws the eye immediately, balancing the visual prominence of the bowl. The shank itself pushes out from a wide transition, its compressed, ovoid shape tapering and curling down while reaching toward a black acrylic saddle stem, lending the combination a Hawkbill-like outline and an utterly singular smoking posture. Up front, the bowl stands on a flattened heel that marks the start of the walls' measured flare to the domed rim, the rim slanting rearward in a dynamic display. Dressed in a crisp, auburn-tinged sandblast, the stummel here showcases a wealth of handsome grain.
