Ser Jacopo: Spongia Rusticated Apple (R2) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-4390

Since its founding in 1982, Ser Jacopo has become one of the most recognizable and iconic pipe brands in all of Italy. Under the watchful stewardship of founder Giancarlo Guidi, the workshop developed a style that has since come to define the Pesaro shaping aesthetic. Each Ser Jacopo pipe is imbued with a whimsical sense of character that reflects the brand's creativity and playful spirit. This Apple is a fairly reserved take on the classic form, albeit one that still retains the Italian neoclassical sense of proportions typical associated with the Pesaro style. As such, the bowl here holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its plump, well-rounded form possessing a touch of extra girth, leading it to proportionally overshadow the tapering shank-and-stem arrangement that follows behind it. The crisp Spongia rustication dresses this piece and lends a wealth of tactile definition to the briar, save for the shank, which is left smooth for contrast.
