Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Bent Egg Churchwarden with Silver (S2) (B) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4436
Founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo has built a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Ser Jacopo isn't necessarily known for their Churchwardens, though they make handsome renditions of them, as in this bent Egg. Coming in at nearly 10 inches long, this lengthy piece showcases a Hawkbill-like combination of shank and stem, the shank itself tapering as it curls out to meet a long, slender stem of similarly tapering black acrylic. The arcing shank and stem combination do well to balance the bowl's presence, their length drawing the eye back from the fore. Up front, the bowl stands atop a rounded heel and grows tall walls that take on an arcing taper to a flat, smooth rim, their plump curvature offering plenty of comfort in hand and providing plenty of space to showcase the stummel's earthy sandblast: a band of silver at the junction offering handsome contrast.
