Ser Jacopo: Domina 2018 Smooth Hawkbill with Silver (L1) (01) Tobacco Pipe

Dating back to 1996, the Domina series is an annual, limited-edition release by Ser Jacopo, with each iteration presenting a single shape within several different finishes to celebrate the year. For 2018, the marque fashioned a handsome rendition of the Hawkbill, its design exuding a distinctly Italian neoclassical character. The composition sees a plump, spherical bowl positioned at the fore, its supple, curved walls offering a comfortable presence in hand. Out back is an aquiline oval shank, whose posture guides the eye toward the front of the composition, its flanks defined by crisp ridgelines that accentuate the design's muscularity. Joined to the shank is a downturned tapered stem, the junction adorned with a silver accent band engraved with "Domina 2018." This particular example wears a smooth chestnut stain across the stummel that reveals healthy grain all throughout.
