Ser Jacopo: Domina 2016 Smooth Bent Dublin with Silver (L1) (28) Tobacco Pipe

An annually released limited edition series, Ser Jacopo's Domina line comprises a single shape across various finishes, with the shape itself varied every year. The line has become something of a tradition, with a new iteration having been produced each year since 1996, every one distinct from the ones that have preceded it. This bent Dublin was the brand's chosen shape for 2016, and it presents with a striking sinuousness, its wide transition pairing the shank and stem to a curling, bold bowl that immediately draws the eye. Said bowl stands on a sweeping heel and flares out to a broad, domed rim whose plump surface is defined by a single ridgeline, stylistically matching a ridge that lines the fore wall and shapes the rim into a point. From out of the transition, the shank curves upward, tapering as it reaches a silver-wrapped junction to a similarly tapering stem of demurely curved black acrylic. The stem base is also lined with a band of silver, creating further intrigue at the aft side of the pipe and elegantly contrasting the rich, ruby-auburn smooth finish that dresses the stummel.
