Ser Jacopo: Rusticated Pencil Shank Dublin with Silver (R1) (A) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-4455

Founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo has built a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Though Guidi passed away in 2012, his legacy lives on not only in the pipes he crafted, or the company he founded, but in the language of design that he helped to pioneer. A more slender, streamlined pipe than is often seen from Ser Jacopo, this Dublin features a more moderately-sized, rather classically inclined bowl. The heel here is flat, however, with a gradual flare to the flat rim, drawing more attention to the fore of this piece. Out back, the sleek stretch of shank and extended saddle stem reach out in gracile fashion for a striking silhouette, the junction punctuated by a band of silver for some elegant styling. A fine Sitter, this piece houses a rather capacious chamber and is dressed in a craggy, auburn-tinged rustication, with contrast offered by the smooth rim and shank.
