Ser Jacopo: Jucunda Sandblasted Bent Billiard (S2) (A) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4495
Founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo has built a reputation for crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. The silhouette of this bent Billiard is remarkably classic, with a nicely balanced sinuousness through the shank and stem that offset some of the bowl's visual weight. That being said, this pipe is a hearty piece, its bowl taking on an impressive degree of substance as its low-set waist and rounded heel support thick walls that make a supple, Brandy-like taper to the rim. A rather tight transition out back gives way to a lifting shank that extends to meet a smartly curved saddle stem of black acrylic. This posture poises the pipe for comfortable smoking and lends this piece a charming fluidity. Part of Ser Jacopo's Jucunda line, which translates from Latin as "Delightful," this pipe is dressed in a rich, auburn-tinged sandblast that reveals a wealth of handsome grain throughout.
