Ser Jacopo: Jucunda Sandblasted Hawkbill (S2) (A) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-4510

Ser Jacopo was founded in 1982 by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. This Hawkbill boasts an understated look compared to the brand's usual fare, though it certainly maintains a neoclassical aesthetic, given its robust bowl. Said bowl sits at the end of an aquiline stretch of shank that tapers gently as it stretches toward a jauntily curved saddle stem of black acrylic: this combination's sleekness and the bowl's relative heartiness belying the pipe's overall length of just over five inches. Up front, the bowl itself rests atop a rounded, pronounced heel which supports its supple, curved walls and low-set waistline. A Brandy-like taper to the rim further amplifies the presence of the bowl's curves, the stummel's substance providing a great canvas to showcase a crisp sandblast and warm, auburn-tinged stain.
