Ser Jacopo: La Fuma Finché Tira Smooth Dublin with Silver (A) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-171-4528
Ser Jacopo was founded in 1982 by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. Ser Jacopo's La Fuma, "The Smoke" in English, line of pipes is the first tier within their smooth-finished pieces, and presents a good value for the grain on display, made all the more tempting thanks to its inviting mahogany stain. A more slender, streamlined pipe than is often seen from Ser Jacopo, this Dublin features a more moderately-sized, rather classically inclined bowl. The heel here is flat, however, with a gradual flare to the similarly flat rim, drawing more attention to the fore of this piece. Out back, the pencil-thin stretch of tapering shank and stem reach out in gracile fashion for a striking silhouette, the junction punctuated by a band of silver for some elegant styling. A fine Sitter, this piece houses a rather capacious chamber and is dressed in a warm, vibrant, auburn-tinged stain with a glossy finish, making for a timeless dressing.
