Ser Jacopo: Sandblasted Bent Billiard (S2) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-171-4536

Ser Jacopo was founded in 1982 by legendary pipe maker Giancarlo Guidi. The workshop cultivated their signature Pesaro style, which delights in dramatic flourishes and whimsical stylings, even more so than the already playful Italian tradition. Sadly, Guidi passed away in 2012, but Ser Jacopo carries on his legacy. Though it encroaches on Nosewarmer territory, being just a touch over four and a half inches long, this bent Billiard from the workshop is a remarkably stout pipe, with a hearty substance in hand that commands one's attention. The transition is wide, with plenty of room to drape a digit, and it gives way to an extremely thick shank that lifts and tapers softly to meet a more swiftly tapering stem of black acrylic. This pairing poises the pipe for comfortable smoking and lends it a slightly more active silhouette. Up front, the bowl stands on a firm heel and boasts nearly cylindrical walls that cinch slightly near the transition before flaring out a touch near the rim, admirably insulating this pipe's capacious chamber. Dressed in a crisp sandblast and an earthy stain, the stummel showcases dense ring grain cascading down the walls of the bowl, creating plenty of texture to appreciate.
