Silver Gray: Smooth Cherrywood Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-775-0006
This Cherrywood is not a Ballerina. That is, it is a Cherrywood shape, not Bo Nordh's Ballerina shape, which involved things like panels and a rolling, eye-shaped rim. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Silver had the Ballerina shape somewhere in the back of her mind when she shaped this briar, because whether it was intentional or not this Cherrywood evokes the graceful posture and delicate stance of the Nordh design, just in a more understated form. This is kind of funny since I've seen some Ballerina designs where the approach was to take the unorthodox paneling/shape orientation aspects of the Nordh original and push them farther... and it all just ended up losing the essence; the balance of poise and stance. Thus, Silver's non-Ballerina Cherrywood is the more successful Ballerina, though she may not have even meant it to be precisely that.
