Silver Gray: Smooth Eskimo Egg Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-775-0009
For her entry into our 2017 American Exposition: The Art of the Accent Stem in American Pipemaking, Silver Gray presented us with one of her signature shapes: the Eskimo Egg. Her smart combination of plump cheeking around the bowl, harder lines through the diamond shank, and broad cross-section all work to create a really unique aesthetic that's just hard not to love. Fitting for the theme of this year's showcase, she topped it with one of the more interesting pieces of acrylic we've come across: a warm, shimmery stem of mainly orange and deep ruby hues with cooler, violet tones cropping up here and there. The overall effect calls to mind the look of a raging fire, mixed with mysterious clouds resembling deep space images of the cosmos. Very unique piece here.
