Silver Gray: Smooth Hawkbill Tobacco Pipe

Though the Hawkbill is originally a Castello design, Silver Gray is giving the Italian workshop a run for its money in regards to being associated with the shape, and within the world of artisan pipes, no one produces the Hawkbill with the same vigor and variety as the American carver. In this rendition, Silver has featured the iconic shank and stem combination but paired it to an Egg bowl as opposed to her other, more Ball-like iterations. The S-recurve meets the lower bowl in a tight, crisp transition, the lines flowing through the rounded heel and up the fore to the rim. Quite the compact pipe overall, this number would do well in a clench, making it a versatile piece for those interested in a exquisitely engineered, handmade, pocket-friendly briar. Despite its scaled down proportions, there's plenty of chamber for your favorite blend and the presentation is anything but reserved — wearing a bright contrast stain, accented with a trim stem of moss-and-sand-hued cumberland.
