Silver Gray is an American pipe artisan who learned the craft working closely with her partner, fellow artisan pipe maker Brad Pohlmann, and continues to further develop her own unique style with bespoke renditions such as this sleek yet sturdy Yachtsman. The bowl in this design displays a dynamic forward cant, accentuated by its organically asymmetrical plateau rim and straight, rugged walls. Out back, a perfectly proportional oval shank arcs smoothly backward to join a just-bent stem of tawny brindled vulcanite, offering an effortless clenching posture. This pipe's weight distribution also allows to sit stably upright, lending an extra bit of versatility. Dressed in a rugged sandblast in deep walnut hues, the stummel boasts excellent ring grain all around the bowl, for a touch of visual panache and plenty of tactile interest.
