Silver Gray: Sandblasted Canoe Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-775-0077

Silver Gray is a talented American artisan with over a decade of pipe-making experience, and these years of dedication are evident in this handsomely crafted Canoe. One of Silver Gray's signature shapes, and a rather dynamic one at that, this Canoe features a bowl with compressed flanks like that of the Opera, but with the addition of a bifurcating ridgeline that descends from the lenticular rim, wraps around the heel, and continues through the sweeping triangular shank. The ridgeline and compressed flanks give a dynamic, sharp-lined angularity to the bowl, whose fore wall resembles a ship or canoe's cutting prow. Out back, the curvaceous shank-and-stem arrangement promotes a comfortable smoking posture and lends a good deal of gesture to the shape's silhouette, its sinuous build additionally offsetting the bowl's bulky visual presence. A black and orange sandblast dresses the stummel and unveils rippling waves of growth rings across the flanks of the bowl, providing plenty of visual and tactile intrigue to the composition. The vulcanite saddle stem adds a final touch of vibrancy to the shape, its pink, red, and yellow hues standing out starkly against the rest of the pipe's more conservative color scheme.
