Lasse Skovgaard: Sandblasted Bent Egg
Product Number: 002-327-0474
While the Danish school generally sees its signature emphasis on smooth, continuous lines used to create designs with what you would call flow, in this case Lasse Skovgaard has quite clearly gone for "curl" instead. The result is a shape which, for all its considerable substance (and this is one hearty, deep-chambered briar to be sure), sports an extremely compact and tight-knit profile. The long, arcing, well-defined lower edges which play so much into this approach, as it happens, also make for a design that sits very, very well, something pretty unusual for any shape that falls into the bent Egg category.
