Lasse Skovgaard: Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Bamboo
Product Number: 002-327-0631
Lasse doesn't produce pieces that make use of bamboo very often, but you can bet than when he does, the results are sensible, intuitive, and nothing short of seriously impressive. Here, he's lent two knuckles of the honey-blonde stuff to a striking, and fairly lengthy bent Dublin shape, resulting in a lively profile with a leisurely repose. The warm, smooth look of the shank extension is beautifully complemented by an dark, understated sandblast about the bowl, unveiling a spread of tight, blasted ring grain climbing all flanks, paired to a rim of blasted whorls. The chamber is fairly compact as well, resulting in plenty of briar to the surrounding walls, to be sure. A comforting, albeit dynamic smoker from Lasse.- Daniel Bumgardner
