Lasse Skovgaard: Sandblasted Acorn Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-327-0765
A charming Acorn from Danish artisan pipe maker Lasse Skovgaard, this pipe offers strong aesthetic appeal and style. A second-generation pipe maker, Lasse is the son of Benni Jørgensen, and he polished his craft working alongside Teddy Knudsen in the W.Ø. Larsen workshop. He now produces fine pipes under his own name with an organic style all his own, as evidenced by this distinctive Acorn.
Proportionately shorter in stature than many Acorn shapes, this piece displays a sweeping heel and a sleek rounding at its rim. The transition is seamless, yet clear, smoothly becoming the shank in a way that invites thumb draping. The shank bears its own unique character, forming a teardrop in cross section, with a clean ridgeline running along the entire left flank. A gentle and supple curve that nestles perfectly into your palm, the stummel is paired to a broad stem of understated beauty, a lithe saddle mouthpiece that glides effortlessly to a hand-shaped and funneled lip button. It's all dressed in a dark sandblast that brings vivid definition to the briar's natural grain, save for the shank end, which is smoothly polished and stained an auburn hue for a touch of contrast
