Lasse Skovgaard: Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-327-0809

The son of pipe carver Benni Jørgenson, Lasse Skovgaard is an accomplished artisan, proficient in the shaping style of his native Denmark. Beginning in his father's studio, Skovgaard went on to work in the esteemed W.Ø. Larsen workshop, and now works independently, creating fine pipes that have proven popular among discerning smokers for decades.

This bent Dublin is a particularly svelte piece for Skovgaard, who often crafts voluptuous, palm-filling pieces. The design places a tall, subtly flared bowl atop a sleek, sweeping heel, creating a dynamic forward cant. Said bowl displays a slightly domed rim that extends in organic asymmetry at the fore and aft, with a beveled inner rim to assist in filling the capacious chamber. Out back, a smooth transition gives way to an upturned round shank that gradually flares, in typical Danish fashion, to a wide, domed shank face, joined to a comfortably bent stem of black vulcanite. Dressed in a light, natural finish, the stummel boasts impeccable flame grain around the bowl, while swirls of birdseye populate the rim and heel.
