Lasse Skovgaard: Sandblasted Asymmetrical Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Growing up surrounded by influences within the pipe industry, it's no wonder Lasse Skovgaard ended up following in the footsteps of his father, Benni Jørgensen. With the help and mentoring of W.Ø. Larsen and Teddy Knudsen, Skovgaard eventually began crafting his own pieces, leading him to the prestigious position he now holds within the industry. Classically Danish in design, this Acorn from Lasse Skovgaard displays a sweeping silhouette with organic and soft features. Up front, the walls of the asymmetrical bowl rise from a lifted heel as they balloon toward the off-center rim, situated at the top of the left flank. Nestled within the bowl is a capacious tobacco chamber, approaching two inches deep, ensuring ample time for lengthy smoking sessions. These leisurely smokes are further supported by the high-kicking shank and saddle stem, lending this piece a great jaw-hanging posture. The inky coloration of the vulcanite mouthpiece pairs well with the darkly-sandblasted stummel, save for the shank's base which is finished smooth for contrast.
