Todd Johnson: Partially Rusticated Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-194-0130

Though Todd Johnson's work readily demonstrates his deep respect for shape-chart standards, the American artisan is not afraid to venture outside of the norm and consistently crafts pieces that combine traditional elements with his own creativity. It's especially evident in this Dublin as Todd has maintained the core features of the timeless shape but has modified it utilizing a fascinating finish and eye-catching color palette. The most prominent aspect about this offering is the rippling rustication that wraps around the stummel which emulates sandblasted ring grain but offers a texture utterly unique in its own right. The deep grooves radiate from the heel and creep up the flanks of the towering, canted bowl before meeting the wide, smooth-polished rim that's stained a dark auburn hue to harmonize with the rustication's coloration. For further compositional unity, Todd has seamlessly incorporated the stem with the stummel as its domed base maintains the shank's shape before stepping down to a flattened configuration. The maroon-like tones of the cumberland mouthpiece add a splash of color to the rest of the piece's dark palette while the stem itself is engineered to provide an exceptional smoking experience each and every time.
