Tsuge: Shiki Aki Dark Smooth

The Shiki line from Tsuge is named for the Japanese word for the four seasons, and the series appropriately presents four shapes, each named after one of the seasons. All are bent designs, marrying the series compositionally, and this Aki bent Egg corresponds to the autumn season. It shares much in common with the summer-inspired Natsu shape, both being bent Eggs, but this piece is more upright and rounded for a taller profile and more dramatic sense of proportions. Found here wearing a dark chestnut stain, this rendition does well to show off its stunning grain patterns.
